01 · FitmentChoosing the Correct Acura Fitment
Begin with the closest model or generation collection, then confirm the exact vehicle year against the selected product. Doorway length, threshold contour, available mounting surface, door clearance, set configuration, and cable exit can differ even when two vehicles share the Acura badge. Use the listing photographs and dimensions as comparison points, not as a substitute for checking the car. If your exact model is not listed, send the model year, clear threshold photos, and available measurements for review. A custom set can be assessed only after the mounting area and required plate shape are understood.
02 · FinishMatte PRO or Classic Stainless?
Classic Stainless keeps the metal visible and works naturally with brighter metallic cabin trim. Matte PRO uses a darker powder-coated surface for a quieter, lower-reflection appearance around the doorway. Both are stainless-based illuminated designs, but finish availability varies by vehicle and product. Use the exact product images to judge the surface, contrast, and illuminated area. The dedicated Acura Matte PRO collection provides the clearest dark-finish path; Classic Stainless products remain available within the main Acura catalog because a separate Acura-specific Stainless collection is not currently available.
03 · ConfigurationLighting and Personalization Options
Available LED colors depend on the selected product and configuration, so confirm the choices shown on the product page before ordering. Personalized threshold plates may use reviewed custom text or submitted artwork when the sill design supports it. A production proof should confirm wording, scale, orientation, and lighting color before manufacturing begins. Not every color, logo style, or custom layout is available for every plate. Personalization changes the visual result, but it does not determine compatibility: model, generation, threshold geometry, and mounting space must be confirmed first.
04 · InstallationInstallation and Power Connection
Reliable Hardwired Installation uses vehicle power, so these illuminated door sill plates do not require batteries or charging. Dry-fit the plate on a suitable outer painted metal threshold and confirm door, seal, and cable clearance before bonding it with automotive adhesive tape. The electrical connection is wired: red is positive, black is negative, and a door-open signal is recommended so the light follows entry. Plastic trim should not be assumed to be a suitable mounting surface for every Acura. If the mounting area or wiring route is uncertain, an individual review and professional installation by an automotive electrician may be appropriate.
Do illuminated door sills require batteries?
No. Current illuminated configurations use a wired connection to vehicle power.
Can they be installed on plastic trim?
Plastic trim is not assumed to be suitable for every Acura. Request a mounting review when no appropriate metal threshold is available.
What if my Acura model is not listed?
Send the model year, clear threshold photographs, and available dimensions so the team can assess compatibility or a custom request.
