Personalized threshold plates may use reviewed custom text or submitted artwork when the sill design supports it. Dry-fit the plate on a suitable outer painted metal threshold and confirm door, seal, and cable clearance before bonding it with automotive adhesive tape. The electrical connection is wired: red is positive, black is negative, and a door-open signal is recommended so the light follows entry. Plastic trim should not be assumed to be a suitable mounting surface for every Smart.
