BMW X5 F15 Door Sills: Choose the Artwork, Fit and Coverage Separately
Choose an X5 F15 plate by the vehicle and the area you want to cover first. Then choose the finish and artwork. A different BMW badge, custom name or M-inspired graphic changes the visual design; it does not turn a plate made for another X5 generation into an F15 part.

The owner question: which look belongs on an F15?
In an X5 owner discussion comparing E70 and F15 sill covers, the practical question was partly visual: plain covers, colored details and badge choices all give a different doorway. The discussion shows a real styling decision; it is not evidence that E70 and F15 parts share mounting dimensions.
Our X5 F15 collection is the vehicle-specific starting point. Confirm F15, model year and the flat mounting area before considering the lettering. Do not order by a logo alone.
Decide which area needs coverage
Look at where shoes actually touch your doorway. These illuminated plates sit on the flat painted metal threshold and cover the area under their own footprint. They do not wrap the outer painted return or protect the adjacent molded plastic. If scuffs are on those other surfaces, a separate compatible protector or carefully selected paint-protection film may be the more relevant solution.
Then decide whether the front doorways alone matter or whether rear passengers also make contact. The published BMW LINE Stainless and Matte PRO listings offer front and front-plus-rear set choices. Choose the set on the individual product page; a front-pair illustration does not depict a four-piece order, and the four-piece Stainless photograph does not prove every configuration has four pieces.
Stainless and Matte PRO are different finishes, not different cars
The BMW LINE Stainless Steel listing shows a brighter exposed metal face. Its photographed layout contains two long and two shorter plates. The BMW LINE Matte PRO listing shows a darker painted upper surface and two front plates in the catalog image. Matte PRO uses a painted steel top and a colored ABS edge; the design lights through the top lettering, while the colored edge stays unlit. Select a finish for the cabin contrast you want, then confirm the chosen set and options on the live listing.
Neither is an OEM BMW part merely because it carries BMW-style lettering. An M or other performance-style design is an artwork choice, not a claim about the vehicle's factory trim.

Installation and personalization
These are wired accessories. Dry-fit each piece on the flat painted metal, check door clearance, clean the surface and plan a concealed wire route before removing any adhesive liner. A suitable vehicle circuit must be identified for the illumination; the store does not claim that an F15 has a ready-to-use factory connector. Ask a qualified installer if you are unsure about the electrical connection or trim removal.
The BMW LINE image is a ready-made example. For a family X5 you might prefer initials; for a club vehicle, a simple club mark; for a project build, a short project name. You may describe the idea without a professional artwork file. First tell us BMW X5 F15 and the year, then the desired text or logo and preferred set. Fine detail, text length and placement are reviewed against the available lit area. Feasibility and price are agreed individually. A different design never changes the plate geometry.
