Acura LED Door Sill Installation Guide
Install an Acura LED door sill by solving the threshold, clearance, wire route and door-trigger checks in that order.
Start with the doorway, not the adhesive
The RDX III products below are made for a prepared flat painted metal threshold, with dimensions selected for the vehicle. Identify the exact model and year, inspect the threshold, and keep the selected product’s wiring instructions beside the vehicle before any trim is moved.

This listing offers FRONT or FRONT+REAR and says to check dimensions against the prepared metal threshold before fitting the adhesive-backed plates.
A controlled installation sequence
1. Confirm the exact application
Match the RDX III model, year wording, threshold shape and FRONT or FRONT+REAR set on the product page. Do not substitute a similar Acura doorway.
2. Dry-fit with the liner intact
Place each plate on the prepared threshold without committing the adhesive. Check full support, equal margins, plate orientation, seal and trim clearance, then close the door slowly.
3. Prepare the contact surface
Follow the selected product and adhesive instructions for the flat painted metal surface. Remove residue as directed and wait until the surface is ready for contact; no adhesive should be used to force a contour.
4. Plan the wire route
Use the exact listing instructions and vehicle-specific information to identify a suitable power source and door-activated circuit. Route beneath trim so movement cannot pinch the cable and service access remains possible.
5. Test before hiding the connection
With the door open, check the intended trigger and illumination. Close and reopen the door while watching the plate, cable path and seal; correct the position or connection while everything is still accessible.
6. Bond only after the fit repeats
Once the plate, cable exit and trigger behave as expected, follow the adhesive instructions to secure the plate. Recheck door closure, trim clearance and the finished light zones after installation.
If something does not look right
No illumination
Recheck the selected listing’s connection instructions, connection security, polarity and door-trigger source before hiding the route.
Door or seal interference
Stop and dry-fit again. Confirm the plate is fully supported on the prepared surface and clear of the seal and trim before bonding.
Different light zones
Read the exact finish description. Matte PRO illuminates the top lettering while its edge and lower surface remain unlit; the Stainless listing describes logo, top bars and side-edge illumination.
