Begin with the exact vehicle and sill canvas
Custom artwork starts with the doorway, not the badge. The RDX III listing gives you one product-specific starting point: its dimensions are selected for the vehicle, its plates fit the prepared metal threshold, and the page identifies FRONT or FRONT+REAR coverage. A different Acura model or generation needs its own listing and fitment check.

Keep one primary mark readable
A short text or a simple logo gives the illuminated aperture room to breathe. Use open counters, a clear line weight and generous edge margins. An Acura wordmark, model designation, A-Spec or Type S reference, or restrained owner text can be a design direction to discuss; none is a blanket promise that every artwork or trademark is available for every sill.
One message
Choose the primary mark before adding a secondary word or date. Long wording should be shortened rather than compressed into the narrow light area.
Correct vehicle
Send the exact Acura model, generation, year and body style. Do not scale artwork from one Acura doorway to another.
Readable proof
Judge the artwork at sill size in daylight and with the illumination on; a monitor preview alone cannot prove legibility.

Ask about the artwork preview
1. Request it before approval
Ask whether a dimensioned artwork preview can be supplied before approving production. It should show safe margins, orientation and the positive/negative treatment inside the actual sill area.
2. Record choices if supplied
Keep the exact model, finish, body colour, LED colour, set, cable exit and left/right parts with any artwork preview.
3. Compare style with fitment
Use the selected dimensions to compare the prepared painted threshold and check seal, trim and door clearance before adhesive contact.
Choose finish and light with the cabin in mind
The RDX product describes a painted stainless-steel upper plate with an ABS edge in the chosen body colour. Only the top lettering illuminates; the edge and lower surface remain unlit. Body colour and LED colour are separate choices. These facts describe the selected RDX product and do not establish the construction of another Acura listing.
Describe the finished part accurately
Factory-inspired proportions can guide a restrained design, but an aftermarket sill should not be called an original factory component or OEM replacement. Standard installation remains a wired accessory on the prepared outer painted threshold; keep the product instructions and vehicle-specific connection point with the proof.
