Prepare a dry inspection

Park safely and switch vehicle power off before handling the badge or its wiring. If it sits behind the plate, support the plate and badge instead of pulling on the lower illuminated strip. Keep the supplied instructions nearby and follow any stricter product-specific care direction.

Product listings describe the plastic body, mounting hardware, wiring and plate format. They do not state a waterproof rating, immersion limit, pressure-washing allowance or approved cleaning chemical. Start with a clear photo of the badge, plate area, visible edges and any mark that concerns you.

Clean dry first

  1. Remove loose dust with a clean, soft, dry microfiber cloth and light pressure across the visible face.
  2. Keep the cloth away from exposed connectors or wire ends. Do not spray the badge, pour liquid over it or direct a hose or pressure washer at the plate area.
  3. If a dry cloth cannot remove a mark, put a small amount of clean water on the cloth rather than on the badge. Wipe a small area, dry it with a second cloth and let the badge and reachable wiring dry fully before restoring power.

A water-dampened cloth is conservative handling advice, not approval of a chemical or a protection rating.

Inspect, then stop

  • Check the illuminated strip, edges, mounting points, screw heads, plastic caps, plate clearance and visible wiring without moving the assembly.
  • Look for a crack, lifted edge, loose fastener, pinched or exposed wire, discolouration or residue.
  • Compare the visible design with the approved order and photograph each concern before tightening, removing or altering anything.

Do not assume that solvent, abrasive polish, degreaser, glass cleaner, alcohol, adhesive remover or sealant suits the plastic, artwork or wiring. Do not open the badge, scrape the illuminated area or pull the wire to test it. If you find damage, moisture, a loose connection, a nonworking section or a wrong item, keep the product and packaging as found and contact support with the order number and evidence.
