LED License Plate Badge Installation: What to Check First
Check the complete badge and plate assembly before tightening the fasteners or connecting the light. Our badge mounts behind a 12 × 6 inch plate, with the illuminated design visible below it.
Confirm the physical space
Allow for the badge’s 304.8 × 177.4 × 9 mm body. Check the recess, lower trim edge, trunk release, camera and existing plate lights. The body depth does not include your license plate or other holder components.
Place the components in their intended order for a fit check. Keep the plate readable and check access to the handle. Do not assume an existing decorative frame can remain in the stack without changing mounting depth or clearance.
Check mounting points and fasteners
The installation may use two or four screws. Compare the badge, vehicle mounting points and supplied instructions. Confirm suitable engagement without overtightening the plastic body or forcing it against an uneven surface. Hole spacing and fastener choice vary by vehicle, so follow the supplied installation information.
Stop if the mounting arrangement requires drilling or modification that you have not planned with an installer. A model inscription on the strip does not specify the car’s mounting arrangement.
Plan wiring through the moving panel
Electrical connection is required. Identify a protected route that avoids sharp edges and preserves the vehicle’s seals. Where the badge sits on a trunk lid or tailgate, check the route through its normal range of movement. Do not trap the cable under the plate or stretch it across a moving joint.
Verify the power connection against the badge instructions and vehicle information during installation. Use a qualified installer if you cannot make and check that connection safely. For Flow RGB, confirm phone-app operation before completing reassembly. No handheld remote is supplied with that option.
Run a final functional check
- The badge and plate remain secure without distortion.
- The trunk or tailgate, handle and camera remain usable.
- The cable has no pinch point or exposed connection.
- The selected static color or Flow control works as expected.
