Comparing Two Custom LED Accessory Quotes: An Itemized Specification Worksheet

Two custom LED accessory quotes can use the same artwork and still describe different products. One may cover a vehicle threshold; another may be a below-plate badge. One may include a Front pair; another may describe a complete set. Compare the specification before comparing the total.

Start with the base product

Give each quote its own row for the exact product URL, product ID, product family and physical location. Record whether it is a door sill, license-plate badge or another accessory. Do not let a shared logo make different products look interchangeable. The LED Door Sills collection and license-plate badge collection are separate routes.

Specification Quote A Quote B
Base product and URL Exact title, ID and location Exact title, ID and location
Vehicle identity Make, model, generation, body, year Make, model, generation, body, year
Quantity and set Single, FRONT or FRONT+REAR as explicitly stated Single, FRONT or FRONT+REAR as explicitly stated
Material and finish Stainless or Matte PRO; body/style fields Stainless or Matte PRO; body/style fields
LED choice and control Static color or Flow; control wording Static color or Flow; control wording
Artwork Exact logo/text and approved proof version Exact logo/text and approved proof version

Use “not stated” instead of filling a blank with the most favorable assumption.

Separate what comes in the box

List the physical parts and the documentation line by line: plates or badge, controller, wiring, adhesive or screws, caps, instructions and any other named hardware. The BMW M3 badge source, for example, lists a plastic badge, four M6 × 20 mm screws, four caps, wiring and instructions. That record belongs to that badge. Do not transfer its hardware to a sill quote.

For each quote, ask whether the hardware is included, optional, supplied by the installer or absent from the description. Do not call a screw set universal. Do not call a wire connector plug-and-play unless the exact source says so.

Make installation a separate line

Record the mounting surface, preparation, expected wire route, installer responsibility and testing responsibility. For a sill, the project standard requires a suitable metal threshold and a product-specific fit review. For a badge, the plate area, frame stack and mounting points control the question. A quote that includes an accessory does not automatically include vehicle installation.

Ask who will identify the vehicle circuit, who will test the selected control and what happens if the physical surface differs from the supplied record. Keep any electrical work with a qualified installer.

Keep delivery and money fields explicit

Give production time, dispatch, delivery estimate, shipping charge, tax, duty, payment timing, cancellation terms and warranty wording their own rows. The current shipping page and refund policy are references to recheck; they do not turn an incomplete quote into a promise. Ask whether each amount is confirmed, estimated or excluded.

Finish with a short difference log: product, quantity, material, light control, artwork approval, hardware, installation, delivery and tax. Request a revised quote when one of those fields is missing. Choose only after both rows describe the same requested specification.
