What the badge does
An LED license plate badge adds an illuminated wordmark, logo or approved short message below a standard 12 × 6 inch plate. It sits behind the plate as a separate accessory. The vehicle’s existing number-plate lamp and housing remain part of the original lighting arrangement.
The product listings describe a plastic badge that needs an electrical connection. They do not describe it as a replacement lamp, lamp housing or universal plate-light socket.
Check the plate area first
- Leave the original plate lamp, housing and mounting arrangement available unless vehicle-specific instructions tell the installer otherwise.
- Measure the complete mounting area. The listed badge body is 304.8 × 177.4 × 9 mm; a standard 12 × 6 inch plate is 304.8 × 152.4 mm, so the badge extends below the plate.
- Check the holder, nearby lamp, screws, lower clearance and wire route. Mounting uses two or four screws depending on the installation; the listing does not publish one universal hole pattern.
Plan the connection with the installer
Product pages say that an electrical connection is required, but they do not provide one universal voltage, fuse position, wire colour or connection point for every vehicle. Ask an installer to identify the vehicle-specific connection before drilling, fastening or removing trim.
For the product reference, see the Buick LED License Plate Badge. The badge fit guide and installation checklist cover the separate fit and wiring questions.
Share the vehicle, plate format, mounting photos and product link if you need a fitment review.
