Ford LED Accessories: Pair Door Sills with a License Plate Badge

An EDGE wordmark at the rear and matching lettering when the door opens: two small details can give a Ford a consistent look. Ford LED door sills and an LED license plate badge offer different places for the same idea. Here are two ways to build that combination—one around the model name, the other around a Mustang design or a personal project name.

Start with the Ford model and body style

For a Ford order, record the model, generation and body style before choosing a badge graphic. Use the model details shown in your vehicle records and compare it with the details on the sill listing. A badge that says EDGE, MUSTANG or BULLITT identifies the illuminated artwork; it does not confirm which sill listing suits your vehicle.

  • Write down the model, generation and body style before opening the logo filter.
  • Check the sill card for the matching model, generation, body style and listed years.
  • Choose front-only or front-and-rear only after the physical listing is right.

Once the fitment record is settled, choose the visual direction. Repeat the model name for a direct match, use a general Ford design for contrast, or prepare a short Custom request. Keep the badge note and sill note separate because the two products have different artwork areas. If the model or body style does not match the listing, use the fitment request route rather than treating a nearby Ford model as interchangeable.

Separate the model from the artwork

In the Ford door sill collection, choose your model and generation before narrowing the logo. The same lettering can appear on several sill shapes. A BULLITT inscription, for example, describes the artwork; the product's vehicle listing tells you which doorway the sill is made for.

The Ford badge collection works differently. Its model and logo choices describe the illuminated design. These badges are designed around a standard 12 × 6 inch plate, so a model name on the graphic does not establish bumper clearance or replace the mounting checks.

An Edge pairing: keep the model name as the main detail

The EDGE badge uses a low, forward-leaning wordmark. Compare it with the designs in Edge II door sills if that is your vehicle. Check the generation and listed years on the individual sill, then decide whether you want EDGE repeated at the doorway or a quieter Ford-themed interior detail.

For a model-led look, repeat EDGE at the doorway and below the plate. For a less repetitive combination, keep EDGE outside and choose a general Ford design inside. White lighting can connect the two even when the inscriptions differ. These are styling directions; choose the sill from the listing for your vehicle.

A Mustang pairing: compare the full composition

MUSTANG, BULLITT and COYOTE are distinct choices in the badge range. A MUSTANG wordmark is not the same composition as a horse emblem with lettering. In the sill range, inspect the actual image as well as the logo filter. Our Mustang design-pairing guide explains how to compare those choices without confusing artwork with vehicle fit.

Bring a personal project name into the design

If a standard wordmark is not what you want, use the Custom option on the selected product. A short project name leaves more room for clear, filled letters than a long slogan plus a small emblem. Specify the wording separately for the badge and the sills; do not assume a request entered for one item applies to the other.

Keep the original spelling and a clear reference together. The artwork preparation guide covers what to supply. A design request still needs review before anyone can promise a particular fine detail.

Check the pair before checkout

  • Confirm the sill's model, generation, body style and front/rear set.
  • Check badge clearance using the badge fit guide.
  • Select the lighting on each item. Matching color names do not imply linked controllers.
  • Review each Custom entry and each selected variant in the cart.
