LED Door Sill Overlay or OEM Replacement? What to Check Before Ordering
Two products can look similar while requiring different installation. Use this check to identify whether a listing describes a standard LED door-sill overlay or an explicitly documented OEM replacement before placing an order.
Identify the product family
A standard illuminated sill listing describes the mounting surface, adhesive and electrical connection. The exact Acura MDX YE1 listing says its stainless plates cover the flat painted entry threshold, require an electrical connection and are not battery-powered or plug-and-play. An OEM replacement is a different part: rely on the listing’s explicit replacement wording and vehicle-specific instructions rather than a similar appearance.
Do not infer replacement status from a photograph. Read the product description and fitment path before treating a sill as an OEM trim replacement.
Check the exact listing
The illustrated product is for Acura MDX YE1 2021–Present with MDX artwork. Compare the model, generation and plate outline with the vehicle’s prepared threshold. Confirm the selected set and finish on the product page; a related Acura model or logo does not prove fit.
