Step-by-Step Installation

Step 1 — Test-fit every sill plate

Lay out the front and rear plates and confirm the left and right sides. Check the logo position, flat contact with the painted metal threshold, and clearance from the door before removing the protective layer.

Step 2 — Plan the wire route

Choose a safe path under the interior trim. Keep the wire away from seals that apply heavy pressure, hinges, seat mounts, moving parts, and sharp metal edges.

Step 3 — Prepare the threshold

Clean and degrease the painted metal surface. Wait until it is completely dry. Do not apply the plate over dirt, wax, silicone, or moisture.

Step 4 — Loosen the necessary interior trim

Use plastic trim tools and remove only the pieces needed to route the wire. Disassembly order is not identical on every vehicle, so follow the service information for your model and avoid forcing clips or panels.

Step 5 — Route and secure the wiring

Guide the wires beneath the trim, leave enough slack for safe movement, and secure them so the plastic can return to position without pinching the cable.

Step 7 — Make and insulate the connection

Use an appropriate automotive connection method. The joint must be mechanically secure and fully insulated. Do not twist wires together and leave them under ordinary office tape.

  • The light turns off correctly after the door closes.

  • Every element in the set works.
  • No wire is pinched anywhere.

Step 9 — Apply the sill plate

Remove the protective layer gradually without touching the adhesive. Align the plate with your masking-tape marks and press it evenly onto the flat painted metal surface. Do not assume an exact adhesive curing time unless it is confirmed by the tape manufacturer.

Step 10 — Reassemble and perform a final check

Return the trim to its original position. Open and close the door several times, then check the illumination, plate alignment, and clearance from the door and weather seal.

Installing a Front + Rear Set

Install and test one door first. Only after that test succeeds should you repeat the process on the other doors. Route rear-door wires neatly to the selected connection point. Do not assume that all four doors use the same factory wire.
