Matte PRO BODY vs HIGHLIGHT: How to Order Contrasting Sill Colors
Matte PRO ordering can show two color decisions because the surface and the illuminated artwork are separate. The COLOR BODY choice describes the visible upper surface. The COLOR HIGHLIGHT choice describes the illuminated logo or top-line color. They should be recorded independently.
The table below uses the current Lexus GX J310 GX550 Matte PRO record as a concrete example. It is an option table for that exact product, not a promise that every Matte PRO vehicle exposes the same colors.
GX550 Matte PRO option table
| Selector | Current GX550 record lists | Use it for |
|---|---|---|
COLOR BODY |
BLACK, WHITE, RED, GREEN, YELLOW, BLUE, ORANGE | The unlit Matte PRO surface or body presentation. |
COLOR HIGHLIGHT |
WHITE, RED, Blue, YELLOW, ORANGE, GREEN, FLOW, Ice Blue | The illuminated logo or top-line treatment on the selected product. |
SET |
FRONT or FRONT+REAR | The ordered plate coverage; confirm the exact set before payment. |
How to choose a contrast
Start with the daylight surface. A BLACK body with an Ice Blue highlight creates a dark-to-cool contrast in the selector record. A WHITE body with a RED highlight creates a light-to-warm contrast. These examples describe available selector combinations in the GX550 record; they do not measure brightness or promise that a screen will reproduce the result exactly.
Next, confirm what is actually illuminated. Matte PRO uses top illumination only in the project lighting rule. The body-colored edge and lower surface are not a second glowing strip. That distinction matters when a product photo shows a dark outline around a bright logo.
Do not copy a color table between vehicles
Different Matte PRO listings can expose different option values. Read the selected product’s live selectors and preserve their spelling in the order record. Do not take the GX550 list and assume it applies to a Mustang, BMW or another vehicle. Do not treat a color shown in an editorial image as proof that the option is available for the selected product.
Use the exact GX550 Matte PRO listing for the live order choices. The same-design finish comparison explains why surface and lighting should be evaluated together, but this page is the narrower selector guide.
What the selectors do not decide
Body and highlight colors do not select a vehicle, alter the threshold outline or add a rear plate to a FRONT order. They also do not establish measured brightness or a paint-match guarantee. Complete the fitment and set checks first, then use the two color fields to record the appearance you want on the exact product page.
Order-record checklist
- Write the exact vehicle and product URL.
- Copy the selected BODY value.
- Copy the selected HIGHLIGHT value.
- Copy FRONT or FRONT+REAR.
- Keep the selection together when asking support to review a custom or unusual order.
