Choosing LED Accessories for an Electric Vehicle
For an electric vehicle, choose the listed product by model, generation, body style and physical geometry. Then have an installer verify the accessory’s electrical requirements against that specific vehicle before fitting it. A design name alone cannot confirm fit or a connection point.
Choose the product by its mounting location
Door sills need a match to the vehicle’s generation, body style and usable metal threshold. A license plate badge needs space for its complete body and a compatible mounting arrangement. Our badge range uses a 12 × 6 inch plate and a 304.8 × 177.4 × 9 mm body.
Look for the exact model in the door sill catalog. If it is absent, use a fitment request rather than substituting another EV’s sill shape. A general brand badge can be selected for its design, while the sill still follows its own vehicle-specific geometry.
Keep accessory wiring away from high voltage
Do not connect an LED accessory to a traction battery, charging system or high-voltage cable. For example, Tesla’s owner information warns owners not to dismantle or replace high-voltage components, cables or connectors. See the manufacturer’s Model 3 high-voltage component guidance; use the correct manual for your own vehicle.
Do not assume that a circuit described as low voltage meets the selected accessory’s supply requirements. Ask a qualified installer to verify voltage, circuit suitability, protection and the intended switching behavior. This guide does not prescribe an EV connection point or wiring color.
Give the installer the selected configuration
- The exact vehicle and product listing
- Front or front-and-rear sill selection, where available
- Static or Flow lighting and its supplied instructions
- The intended wire route and any nearby moving panels or seals
Choose the lighting after fit and installation feasibility. Flow effects do not remove the need for a suitable supply, and matching colors do not establish synchronized control between products.
