When the Product Options and Description Disagree: Confirm a Mustang LED Sill Order
An option selector and a product description should describe the same order. When they disagree, the safest response is a written confirmation record. The current Mustang S550 Running Horse pages provide a concrete example: the Matte PRO selector offers a BLUE body choice, while its description calls the top black matte powder-coated; the Stainless page uses a Blue selector value while its description names Navy Blue and Blue.

Capture both live records
Save the exact URL, product ID, page date and a screenshot of the selectors before you ask a question. The two pages are:
- Matte PRO product ID 9049391202461: COLOR BODY includes BLACK, WHITE, RED, GREEN, YELLOW, BLUE and ORANGE; COLOR HIGHLIGHT includes WHITE, RED, Blue, YELLOW, ORANGE, GREEN, FLOW and Ice Blue; SET is FRONT.
- Stainless product ID 8641631060125: COLOR includes WHITE, RED, Blue, GREEN, YELLOW, Ice Blue, PURPLE and FLOW; SET is FRONT; STYLE includes Stainless and Raptor choices.
Copy the description paragraph beside the selector, rather than paraphrasing it from memory. The Matte page describes black matte powder-coated tops. The Stainless description uses the phrases Navy Blue and Blue even though the selector label shown in the saved live source is Blue.
Ask what the color field controls
Do not translate BLUE into a promise that the whole Matte PRO plate will be blue. Ask support to identify whether COLOR BODY controls the visible upper plate, whether the description’s black wording is a stale default, and whether the selected color is available for this exact Running Horse product. Ask the same question about Blue versus Navy Blue on the Stainless page.
Use a concrete request:
- Product ID and URL
- Artwork: Running Horse
- Finish: Matte PRO or Stainless
- Set: FRONT
- Body color, highlight/light color or Stainless color, copied exactly
- The wording conflict, pasted or screenshot-marked
- The answer you need: exact delivered body color and exact selected light color
Ask for the confirmed variant name or a corrected order record. Do not select a nearby color simply because its name sounds close.
Keep finish, body and light as separate fields
Matte PRO separates COLOR BODY from COLOR HIGHLIGHT. Stainless separates COLOR from STYLE. A Blue body, a Blue highlight and a Blue static light are different fields. A description that names the top’s construction does not automatically resolve the selector’s body color. Record each field on its own line in the support message.
The two pages can be compared as the same Mustang S550 artwork route, but do not merge their option labels. A Stainless color description cannot validate a Matte PRO body option, and a Matte body choice cannot establish a Stainless finish.
Approve only the confirmed record
Before checkout, keep the reply, screenshot and final selection together. If support confirms the option, repeat the exact wording in the order note. If the answer remains ambiguous, leave the color unresolved. The current page is evidence of a listing mismatch, not evidence that every selector combination can be made.
For the wider generation check, use the Mustang generation guide. It does not replace this metadata check. The main collection is a browsing route, not a confirmation of an ambiguous variant.
